Like the Royal Academy of Engineering with its engineering Ethics and Principles and most other professional bodies, we have a number of Rules of Conduct that set out the standards of behaviour expected of its members.
The Engineering Professors Council has developed the Engineering Ethics Toolkit, a suite of resources, guidance and teaching materials that enable engineering educators to introduce ethics into education and training for every engineer.
However, a list of rules will never cover every situation that may arise, and there will always be a role for individual judgement in deciding how to apply these rules.
Enabling engineering excellence
We champion best practice and strong ethics in all we do; from our publishing processes and the standards we set to the courses we offer to support your professional development. Discover how we’re enabling engineering excellence.
